KFBIO’s DSMS is compatible with the DICOM WG26 standard.

 

A: WG-26 is the DICOM Working Group for Pathology. It defines how Whole Slide Images (WSI) are stored, transmitted, and managed in a standardized way, enabling pathology images to be handled like radiology studies.

 

A: Proprietary formats (SVS, NDPI, BIF, KFB, etc.) hinder interoperability. DICOM standardizes image structure and metadata, allowing seamless data exchange across PACS, LIS, and AI systems.

 

A: DSMS supports the DICOM WSI SOP Class and DICOMweb protocols (WADO-RS, QIDO-RS, STOW-RS), allowing direct integration with PACS and third-party systems for viewing and archiving.

A: Not necessarily. DSMS remains compatible with major proprietary formats while enabling migration and unified management through DICOM-based pipelines.
