KFBIO Showcases Innovative Digital Pathology Solutions at the 66th Mexican Pathology Congress
Opening at the Congress
In May 2025, KFBIO, a pioneer in digital pathology solutions, participated in the 66th Annual Congress of the Colegio y Asociación Mexicana de Patólogos A.C. (LXVI–2025). The company attended the event together with its exclusive local distributor. During the congress, KFBIO introduced its latest digital pathology solutions and connected with pathology professionals from across Mexico.
Dr. Mario Murguía Pérez Shares Remote Diagnosis Experience
One of the highlights of the congress was a presentation by Dr. Mario Murguía Pérez, a long-term KFBIO user. Dr. Murguía Pérez is the Chief Professor at Médica Campestre Hospital, head of the DIME laboratory, and an anatomical pathology expert at IMSS, Mexico’s public healthcare system.
He has successfully implemented KFBIO digital pathology scanners in the DIME laboratory. As a result, his team now provides remote diagnostic services to hospitals across four Mexican states.
During the live demonstration, Dr. Murguía Pérez brought a group of pathology instructors to the KFBIO booth. Together, they demonstrated real-time remote consultation and digital teaching workflows using KFBIO scanners. This demonstration showed how digital pathology supports collaboration, education, and faster access to pathology expertise.

In-Depth Discussions with Public and Private Hospitals
Throughout the congress, the KFBIO team held in-depth discussions with experts from public and private hospitals across Mexico. Together, they explored current digital pathology applications, industry challenges, and practical solutions.
In addition, many visitors shared their experiences with digital pathology and discussed future laboratory needs. These conversations gave the KFBIO team valuable insights into local clinical requirements and ongoing digital transformation efforts.
After the congress, two hospitals invited Chico Lai, KFBIO’s Americas Regional Director, for on-site visits. During these visits, he conducted workflow assessments, introduced tailored digital pathology solutions, and discussed future collaboration opportunities.
One of our KFBIO team’s favourite moments in this job: visiting the lab, hearing what new and longtime users need. Honest talks, real passion.
Huawei OpenLab Digital Pathology Workshops
Following the congress, KFBIO hosted two specialised digital pathology workshops at Huawei OpenLab Mexico.
The workshops focused on the Three-Step Path to Fully Digital Pathology, including:
- Digital slide acquisition for remote diagnosis
- Fully digital pathology laboratory implementation
- AI-assisted pathology analysis
During the sessions, pathologists and laboratory professionals actively participated in discussions and shared their questions and experiences.
As a result, participants gained a deeper understanding of how digital pathology improves laboratory efficiency, supports remote collaboration, and creates long-term value for healthcare institutions.
Looking Ahead
KFBIO remains committed to advancing digital pathology worldwide.
Looking ahead, the company will continue working with hospitals, research institutions, and industry partners across Latin America.
Together, these collaborations will expand access to remote diagnosis, accelerate digital pathology adoption, and support the development of smarter healthcare services throughout the region.
